In this presentation I show how the various Ingres
monitoring tools can be applied to the problem of improving the performance of
an on-line transaction processing application written in Java (although the
techniques shown work just as well with any other language). The
performance of the application was improved by over 1,300% before I decided it
was "good enough", but further improvements are possible.
The source code and set-up files for the example
application can be downloaded too, so that you
can try it out and even use it for your own experiments. |
